Allison Bokitch,(B.A., M.A. - Psychology)

Allison has been involved with training dogs  for  nearly 12 years.  To date, she holds many titles with her dogs as well as many positions throughout the "dog world".

She has been very active in the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program  and has held the position of  provincial evaluator for the program for 3 years during 2006-2009.  She was instrumental in getting the program back up and running after being dead for many years.  Allison continues to do therapy work with her dogs and stays very busy making visits around west central Saskatchewan and the Heartland Health Region where she works. All Allison's therapy dogs are certified by TDI Therapy Dogs International and that is the agency she volunteers under currently.

Allison is a member of the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and is certified to evaluate the CGN (Canine Good Neighbour) certificate.  Additionally, she is also a member of the GRCC (Golden Retriever Club of Canada) and the Golden Retriever Club of America GRCA. In addition, she was the vice president of  Looking Out for Pets INC. for a 2 year term which was a club geared to educating the public about responsible pet ownership.

Allison also held  the vice-president  position of the GRC-SK( Golden Retriever Club of Saskatchewan) for the 2007-2008 year and was on the show committee for the Golden Retriever National dog show in 2008. Allison has  been certified at LEVEL ll TTOUCH(Tellington Touch)therapy. Currently, she is the Saskatchewan Regional Representative for the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT).  She also is a trainer mentor for the Animal Behavior College in California.  Allison's education in psychology has also proved to be beneficial to her dog related activities but so has the education she has taken from the Animal Behavior Institute in South Carolina.  She has taken courses in Canine enrichment and behavior as well as animal assisted therapy.

Allison also teaches /assists with obedience classes for the SKOC(Saskatoon Kennel and Obedience Club).  Allison has also trained under many individuals and taken courses that address behavioral problems such as aggression and fear.  Much of Allison's success is owed to Patricia Button who was the obedience director for the SKOC for many years.  She has been a mentor for years and a superb coach who encouraged Allison all the way through.  If it wasn't for Pat, Allison may not be where she is today.  Some of Allison's training has come from Dr. Ward Falkner who lives in B.C. and has Grand Master Obedience Trial Champions.  She has taken classes in clicker training, more traditional methods and positive reinforcement and chooses her teaching style by finding a balance between all three methods.
